Door operators are used for the electrical operation of automatic door systems. Depending on the door type, there are different operator systems and requirements for the door operator.
Drives for industrial doors
Industrial door operators are used for the electric opening and closing of special doors used in industrial environments. These industrial doors control access to warehouses, factories, logistics centres and other industrial facilities. Unlike ordinary doors, industrial doors are usually larger, more robust and designed for use in demanding environments. Depending on the specific requirements of the site, these doors can have different designs, including sliding gates, sectional doors, rolling doors or folding doors.
There are different types of door drives to automate the various types of doors, from simple sectional door drives and special sliding door drives to rolling door drives with integrated safety brakes. Drives with variable output speeds and frequency inverter operation are used for door applications with particularly high running speeds, such as high-speed doors.
Garage door openers
Garage door openers are primarily used to enable the automatic operation of garage doors. These operator systems play a crucial role in residential buildings, collective garages and small commercial buildings, where they are used to make access to the garage more convenient and efficient. Essentially, Garage door openers automate the process of opening and closing garage doors, allowing users to, for example, drive their vehicle into the garage without manually opening the door.
Garage door openers are available in a variety of designs, including chain openers, screw openers and belt openers. The choice of operator type depends on various factors, including the size and weight of the garage door as well as personal preferences in terms of noise levels and maintenance requirements.
Modern Garage door openers are often equipped with smart features that allow the status of the garage door to be monitored and control to be taken over via smartphone apps.

Torantriebe für Industrietore
Industrietorantriebe dienen zum elektrischen Öffnen und Schließen von speziellen Toren, die in gewerblichen oder industriellen Umgebungen verwendet werden. Diese Industrietore regeln den Zugang zu Lagerhallen, Fabriken, Logistikzentren und anderen industriellen Einrichtungen. Im Gegensatz zu gewöhnlichen Toren sind Industrietore in der Regel größer, robuster und für den Einsatz in anspruchsvollen Umgebungen ausgelegt. Je nach den spezifischen Anforderungen des Standorts können diese Tore verschiedene Bauformen haben.
Typische Torantriebe im gewerblichen und industriellen Bereich sind:
- Rolltorantriebe: Rolltore sind besonders platzsparend, robust und für hohe Torfrequenzen geeignet. Sie werden auch oft an Parkhäusern und Sammelgeragen verbaut. Eine spezielle Ausführungsform dieses Tortyps sind Rollgittertore, die bei geschlossenem tor eine Belüftung zulassen.
- Sektionaltorantriebe: Sektionaltore sind der Standard in Betriebshallen, Werkstätten, Lagerhallen und anderen Industriegebäuden. Diese Tore sind wirtschaftlich in der Anschaffung und ermöglichen einen sicheren und zuverlässigen Torbetrieb.
- Schiebetorantriebe: Schiebetore werden oft in Zufahrten zu gewerblichen oder instriellen Bereichen eingesetzt. Hier sind die Schiebetore besonders lang, da oft zwei Fahrspuren abgedeckt werden und auch LKW-Betrieb recht üblich ist. Entsprechend sind Schiebetore im industriellen Bereich besonders groß und schwer und werden mit speziellen Antriebssystemen bewegt.
Torantriebe für den privaten Bereich
Sektionaltor- bzw. Garagentorantriebe: Sektionaltore sind die klassische Lösung für Einzel-, Doppel- oder Sammelgaragen. Dieser Tortyp ist platzsparend, wirtschaftlich und relativ einfach zu automatisieren.
Schiebetorantriebe: Schiebetore werden oft an breiteren Zufahrten installiert und sind robust und langlebig. Die Torbewegung erfolgt hier horizontal, daher sind Schiebetore platzsparender als Drehtore.
- Drehtorantriebe: Drehtore sind als ein- oder zweiflügelige Konstruktion verfügbar und werden oft an Zufahrten zu privaten Wohngebäuden verbaut. An diesen Toren können Torantriebe recht einfach auch im Nachhinein nachgerüstet werden.
Wichtige Punkte bei Auswahl und Kauf eines Torantriebs - Was sollte man beachten?
1. Einsatzbereich: Privat oder Industrie?
Die Belastung unterscheidet sich deutlich. Industrietore sind schwerer und werden in der Regel häufiger bewegt. Entsprechend sind Industrietorantriebe robuster und leistungsstärker.
2. Torart und -größe: Sektional-, Roll-, Schiebe- oder Drehtor?
Jede Torart hat spezielle Anforderungen und belastet die Antriebsmechanik unterschiedlich. Daher ist es wichtig den Antrieb speziell passend für den jeweiligen Tortypen auszuwählen.
3. Leistung und Häufigkeit: Wie groß und schwer ist das Tor und wie oft wird es bewegt?
Je größer und häufiger das Tor genutzt wird, desto stärker sollte der Motor ausgelegt sein.
4. Sicherheit: Welche Funktionen werden benötigt?
Funktionen wie Hinderniserkennung, Notentriegelung, automatische Auf- und/ oder Zufahrt, intergierte Fangvorrichtung oder Peripheriegeräte sollten bei der Auswahl des Automatisierungssystems bedacht werden.
5. Komfort und Steuerung: Automatikbetrieb, Funk oder Smarthome?
Funkhandsender, App-Bedienung oder Smart-Home-Anbindung machen den Alltag leichter.
